CYPRESS, CA – Sophomore guard DeShields Fajardo has accepted a scholarship offer to play at NAIA La Sierra University next season. Fajardo started 36 games for the Chargers during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons with career averages of 5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 4 assist per game.

Fajardo was unable to play for Cypress this season after using her two years of eligibility, but she stayed very involved with the team as a redshirt this season while finishing up her AA degree. The 2014-15 All-OEC First Team selection was a vocal leader at practice and on the bench during games for the Chargers this season as she kept herself ready for the next level. "I really enjoyed playing for Coach Mohr and bonding with the team over these past few years," said Fajardo.

The Golden Eagles finished 6-19 overall and 2-6 in the Cal Pac last season. Fajardo is looking forward to getting back on the court next season and making an impact for La Sierra. "I'm a true point guard and playmaker but I can also score…I need to work on coming off screens and on my three-point shot for the next level," said Fajardo.
