Merced, CA- The Cypress College women's basketball team (3-1) finished as the Merced Tournament Consolation Champions with a 2-1 record this past weekend.
After losing their tournament opener to Santa Rosa 55-63, the Chargers bounced back with a 75-65 victory over De Anza followed by a 70-53 victory over Lassen in the consolation championship game. Freshman guard Alyssa Movchan was named to the Merced All-Tournament team. Movchan averaged 12 PPG, 2.7 RPG, 1.6 SPG, and 1 APG during her three tournament starts.
Women's basketball will resume play in their home opener on Friday, November 20th at 7:00 pm against El Camino.
