Cypress Chargers Overpower Riverside City in Dominant 22-7 Conference Opener
CYPRESS, CA - The Cypress Chargers men's water polo team opened conference play with a commanding 22-7 victory over Riverside City College. Despite going down early 1-0 and 2-1, the Chargers found their rhythm with a 4-0 run to take a 5-2 lead, finishing the first period ahead 6-3.
Cypress extended their lead in the second period with another 4-0 run, making it 10-3 before Riverside ended the streak. At halftime, the Chargers led 11-4.
In the third period, Cypress delivered a dominant 6-0 run, pushing the score to 17-4. The Tigers managed to stop the run late in the period, but the Chargers remained in control, closing the game 22-7.
Top performers included Porter Rosenlof, who led the team with six goals, and Wes Brazada with four goals and four assists. Goalkeeper Zach Populous had 10 saves. The Chargers look to continue their strong performance as the conference season progresses.
