Cypress Men's Golf Concludes Season at 3C2A State Tournament
GOLETA, CA – Cypress Men's Golf team concluded their impressive season at the 3C2A State Tournament in Goleta, California. The tournament, held at the picturesque Sandpiper Golf Course, brought together the top four teams from both the northern and southern regions for a highly competitive two-day event.

As the sole representatives of the Orange Empire Conference, the Chargers faced fierce competition from the best teams in the state. Coming off a runner-up finish at the SoCal Regionals with a 36-hole team score of 757 at Rio Bravo Country Club in Bakersfield, the Chargers demonstrated their resilience and skill. They finished just four strokes behind College of the Canyons (753) and secured their spot in the State Tournament by winning a tiebreaker over Cuyamaca (757). Berkecem Renda led the team at the regionals, shooting 1-under par, which was crucial in advancing the Chargers to the State Tournament.
On the first day of the State Tournament, the Chargers posted a team score of 382, tying with Santa Barbara City College for fourth place. Basil Strolz led the team with an impressive individual score of 73, followed by Alex Mascaro with 74, Vincent Quintero with 77, and Berkecem Renda, Will Oates, and DJ Blas each scoring 79.
Despite a valiant effort, the team faced challenges on the second day, resulting in a team score of 397 and an overall finish of 779, placing them 8th in the tournament.
