Chargers Men's Golf Secures Runner-Up Finish at SoCal Regional, Advances to State Tournament

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Cypress Chargers Men's Golf team finished as runners-up with a total score of 757 at the 3C2A SoCal Regional. The tournament, held at Rio Bravo Country Club in Bakersfield on May 5-6, tested the skills of the southern region's top community college golfers over two challenging days.

After the first day of competition, Cypress found themselves in the middle of the pack with a team score of 381. However, the Chargers rallied on day two, improving their score to 376 and securing their spot as one of the top teams in the tournament.

Leading the charge for Cypress was Berkecem Renda, whose stellar performance included one of the top scores in the tournament. Renda shot a remarkable 72 on day one and followed it up with a 71 on day two, totaling 143 overall. Vince Quintero also delivered a strong showing with a total score of 149, while Alex Mascaro, Basil Strolz, Will Oates, and Grant Muhlenbruch all contributed solid performances to help propel the team to their impressive finish.

With this strong showing, the Cypress Chargers Men's Golf team has earned a spot in the highly anticipated 3C2A State Tournament at Sandpiper Golf Club on May 12-13. The team is poised to continue their success and make their mark on the state stage, showcasing the talent and dedication that has defined their season.

3C2A SoCal Regional Results

UP NEXT: The Chargers will travel to Santa Barbara the weekend of May 12-13 for the 3C2A State Tournament. The two day event will be held at Sandpiper Golf Course.
