Sebastian Castro Earns Charger of the Week (April 5 - April 11)

CYPRESS, CA- Sophomore men's basketball star, Sebastian Castro, earned the first Charger of the Week Award presented by The Crab Shack after last night's win against Palo Verde.

The sophomore guard has made strides this season as a top offensive and defensive player on the team. During the Chargers home opener against Antelope Valley College, Castro put up 31 points and helped Cypress win an impressive first match against the Marauders, 87-69. Throughout the season, Castro has proven to be a key force in the Chargers offensive strategy and managed to score 53 total points across the team's three games this season. Castro also contributed to the team's defense on the court by pulling down 14 rebounds and having three key steals on defense that propelled the Chargers offense. Despite falling short against Cerro Coso on Tuesday, the Chargers finished the season with a 2-1 record. Coach Andrew Alhadeff said that "in his 15 years, [Castro] is one of the most coachable student-athletes he's ever had". He is proud of how well Castro developed during the off-season and saw just how much stronger and more skilled Castro grew over the course of the season. Coach Drew knows the best basketball is still in front of Castro and couldn't be more proud of him getting recognized for his outstanding efforts on the court.
