CYPRESS, CA  Cypress College men's basketball standout, Hayden Moore, committed to Chapman University on Friday. Chapman competes as a Division III member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).

The Huntington Beach High School alumnus averaged 7.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game over two seasons with the Chargers. Moore exceled in his role as a three-point marksman for the Chargers, finishing second on the team with 46 made threes, while shooting 39-percent from deep, during the 2018-19 season.

"Hayden is one of the hardest workers I have ever had the privilege to coach. He was always in the gym and library working to better himself, both on the court and in the classroom. He is going to do extremely well in the SCIAC," said Coach Alhadeff. "We are going to miss him."

Graduating from Cypress this spring with a 3.71 GPA, Moore excelled off the court as well. He was named to the Dean's List all four semesters and participated in the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), where he was voted SAAC President.

Moore will major in business with an emphasis in accounting at Chapman, with plans on working for an accounting firm and eventually owning his own business.
