Tostado Goes Deep Twice, Chargers Win 17-4

CYPRESS, CA- Cypress Chargers baseball (9-1, 5-0 OEC) hosted Saddleback College (6-4, 3-2 OEC) for the second game of the four game series. The Chargers took care of business Thursday afternoon defeating Saddleback, 17-4, staying undefeated in conference play. 

Mario Tostado (3-for-4, 2 RBI's, 2 HR) was the star of the afternoon after launching two homeruns over the left field wall. Dalton Sloniger (3-for-4, BB) reached base four times and  played 3rd base for Cypress. Andrew Sojka (2-for-4) led the game in RBI's with three, batting in the lead off sport for the Chargers. David Le Bioda (2-for-4) led Saddleback with two hits along with Lance Gardiner (2-for-2, 2 BB). Julian Aguiar got the start on the mound for Cypress throwing four innings and striking out three. 

The Chargers fell behind 1-0 in the second inning after Saddleback scored on a fielder's choice. Cypress put up three runs in the third inning and Saddleback answered again with a fourth inning homerun off the bat of Luc Stuka. The fourth inning is when Cypress pulled away beginning with a solo homerun from Mario Tostado. The Chargers would score five runs in the inning and would tack on three more in the fifth. Coby Morales hit a two run home run to deep center field scoring Mason Pastorello pushing the lead to 13-2. Cypress would go on to score six runs in the inning. Cypress finished the game off with Isaiah Ayala on the mound sealing the victory, 17-4.

UP NEXT: The Chargers will see Saddleback tomorrow for a double-header at Saddleback College. Game one begins at 12pm followed by the series finale at 3pm.
