IRVINE VALLEY, CA- Tainea Allen and Jordon Wilson faced off in the CCCAA Pairs Regional on May 7th at El Camino College. The high-flying duo was able to defeat Grossmont in three sets to advance to the State Championships at Irvine Valley (May 13 -14). 

Allen and Wilson played in a highly competitive battle versus the Grossmont pair, Madison Bogle and Alexcis Morris. The Cypress duo was able to win the first set 21-16 before falling in the second set 17-21. The Chargers outplayed the Griffins in the third set to win 16-14.

The Cypress pair has been seeded in Pool S3 for the state championship. Cypress will compete in the afternoon wave against the following pairs: Sevilla Leuteneker & Gabi Brown (Irvine Valley), Kylee Moore & Theresa Ochoa (Monterey Peninsula) and Amaris Garcia & Katey Mulville (Ventura). Allen and Wilson's first match will be at 12:30pm versus Garcia and Mulville from Ventura College. Match #2 will begin at 2pm as Cypress will take on Irvine Valley before the final match of the day versus Monterey Peninsula. The top two teams from each pool will advance to Saturday's single elimination bracket.
