CYPRESS, CA – Cypress College men's soccer came from behind to pick up a much needed victory over visiting Norco College on Tuesday, 3-1. The win moves the Chargers to 6-8-2 overall and 3-6 in Orange Empire Conference play.

Neither team capitalized on their chances in the first half, resulting in a 0-0 tie at the break.

The Mustangs opened up the scoring early in the second half when Eddie Vasquez snuck one past Cypress keeper Eric Rodriguez from inside the box (47:30).

However, Cypress freshman Emmanuel Pizzaro found the back of the net on a pass from freshman running mate Ulises Gomez to tie the game 1-1 (60:33). The Chargers struck gold again in the 79th minute as Israel Ramirez capitalized on a beautiful cross from Pizzaro, giving Cypress a 2-1 lead. Cypress took advantage on the counter attack as Gomez found Pizzaro for his second goal of the game to extend the lead, 3-1

Men's soccer will return to action on the road at Santiago Canyon next Tuesday, October 24. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
