Chargers Welcome Twelve New Members into the Cypress Athletics Hall of Fame

Chargers Welcome Twelve New Members into the Cypress Athletics Hall of Fame

CYPRESS, CA- Cypress College Athletics hosted the annual 2023 Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Thursday, May 11th.

The joyous occasion introduced twelve new members into the Cypress Chargers Hall of Fame. In prior years, the ceremony had been a brunch while 2023 brought the first ever dinner event. Over 140 attendees filled Gym II and showed their support for the new class of Charger Hall of Famers.

The evening began with a cocktail social hour in the upstairs foyer of Gym II. There guests were able to take photos in front of Chargers decorated backgrounds, enter into the event's raffles and enjoy hors d'oeuvres with their beverages.

For the second portion of the night, attendees moved down into Gym II to partake in a gourmet dinner. Once settled, the host speaker introduced each new member of the Chargers Hall of Fame. Accompanied behind the speaker was a presentation on the video board of the inductees during their years at Cypress College.

Each member of the 2023 class had prepared a speech about their experience at Cypress College and their time after competing as a Charger. Their great stories provided insight as to what it takes to be a student-athlete and their steps of moving on to the next level.

With Chargers athletics dating back to the opening of the campus in 1966, there have been many successful athletes and administrators to pass by in the department's history. The twelve inductees described their time at Cypress College and exemplified what it means to be a Charger.

On the field or on the sidelines, Cypress College Athletics is proud to acknowledge and appreciate those who have accomplished many great things as a Charger and thereafter. The new members will be a part of the department's rich history and admired by those making a stop or making a home at Cypress College.
