Cypress Swim takes 5th Place at Mt. Sac Invitational

WALNUT, CA – The Cypress College swim team traveled to Walnut for the 2020 Mt. Sac Swim Invitational last weekend. The men and women combined for a 5th place finish, totaling 737 points.

The women's swim team competed in the Mt. Sac Invitational where they combined for 155 team points to take 6th place out of 15 teams. Individually, Meghan Efseaff earned the most points for the Chargers with 100 points. Efseaff swam in six events: 50-yard Fly (1st), 50-yard Free (3rd), 100-yard Fly (3rd), 100-yard Back (2nd), 100-yard Free (5th) and 200-yard Back (2nd).  

The men's swim and dive team also competed in the Mt. Sac Invitational where they combined for 286 points to take 4th place out of 15 teams. Zachary Sofai earned the second most points for the Chargers with 67. Sofai swam in six events: 100-yard Free (4th), 200-yard Fly (9th), 100-yard Fly (10th), 50-yard Fly (1st) and 50-yard Free (4th), and 200-yard Free (16th). Joshua Boynton also put up points for the Chargers as he totaled 55 points. He also swam in six events: 200-yard IM (12th), 50-yard Free (12th), 100-yard Breast (6th), 400-yard IM (11th), 200-yard Breast (4th), and 100-yard Free (8th). 

UP NEXT: The Chargers take the pool Friday, March 6 at the Golden West Orange Empire Conference swim meet @ 10:00am.
