Connor Whitcomb Qualifies for Men’s Golf Regional

Chino Hills Calif.- The Cypress College men's golf team wrapped up their regular season with the OEC Golf Championship at Los Serranos Country Club on Monday. The Chargers shot a 378 on the South Course and a 404 on the North Course totalling 782, which was enough for the Chargers to finish fifth on the day.  Cypress finishes in fourth place in the conference with a total of 15 wins and 40 losses this season.

On the par 74 South Course, James Kim (70) and Luca Yi (71) led the way for the Chargers. Only Chad Hambright (67) and Robby Melton (69) from Riverside finished with lower scores than Kim on the South Course. On the par 72 North Course, Connor Whitcomb (72) performed at an extremely high level while others struggled during the afternoon rounds. Whitcomb finished fourth overall in the OEC Golf Championship and received first team all OEC honors for his performance this season.

Whitcomb's performance makes him the only Charger to qualify for the Men's Golf Regionals at Olivas Links Golf Course taking place on Monday, May 4.
