Former Cypress College pitcher Jason Vargas is a World Series Champion after the Kansas City Royals defeated the New York Mets 7-2 in a 12 inning thriller last night.

Cypress College Head Baseball Coach and Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox Manager, Scott Pickler, has now led his team to five Cape Cod League Championships over the last eleven seasons.

Cypress College Hall of Famer David Huff has found his way into the pitching rotation for the USA National Team at the Pan Am Games. Huff was a standout for the Chargers back in 2005 before transferring to UCLA.

Orange Empire Conference baseball continues to make its case as the top junior college conference in the nation. 51 current and former CCCAA student-athletes have been selected in this year’s MLB Draft with 16 of the 51 coming from the Orange Empire Conference.

The Orange Empire Conference had a state high seven teams advance to the 2015 postseason, which makes the OEC all-conference team one of the best in the state. The Cypress College baseball team had seven all-conference selections and the Co-Player of the Year.
