Men's Swim and Dive Finish Fifth in OEC Tournament

Huntington Beach, CA – The Cypress College men's swim and dive team finished fifth at the OEC tournament at Golden West College. The Chargers finished with 183 points edging out Fullerton (181 points) and Santa Ana (72 points).

The men started strong with a win over crosstown rival Fullerton College in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:34.81 and an outstanding anchor leg of 22.10 seconds by freshman Mark Wyse.

Freshman Matt Effseaf finished 5th in the 200-yard Individual Medley, defeating Irving Pena (Fullerton).

Sophomore diver Arthur Lawrence displayed his potential with a 4th place finish on the 1-meter, outshining the divers from Saddleback College.

The Aquatics team is looking towards their first invitational of the season at Mt. San Antonio College on February 25-27.
