CYPRESS, CA - Cypress men's basketball (2-4) lost to Long Beach City (1-3) in their home opener, 68-58.
The Chargers jumped out to a 10-point lead half way through the first and kept the momentum going until the Vikings managed to comeback and tie 27-27. Long Beach City College took their first lead of the night with less than two minutes in the first. The Chargers missed two shot opportunites to answer, and the half ended with the Vikings up 29-27.
In the second half, Cypress struggled to regain control of the score as the Vikings continued to defend their lead. Then, the Vikings capitalized on free throws in the last stretch of the game to take their first victory of the season, 68-58.
