SAN DIEGO, CA- Women's tennis (2-1) traveled down south to take on San Diego City (0-1) in their first road match of the season. The Chargers put together a strong showing defeating the Knights, 8-1. 

The Chargers began the day with two competitive doubles matches. Coach Harris was impressed with the poise his team showed against the solid San Diego Competition.

Doubles:

1) So/Scott (Cypress) def. Strong/Fitzmaurice (SD), 8-5

2) Canal/Fabros (Cypress) def. Satrya/Adel (SD), 9-7

3) Tomooka/Romero (Cypress) def. Default Win  

Noah Canal played in their first match as a Charger, coming out victorious in both doubles and single competition. Sydney Tomooka earned her second singles victory of the season as she defeated her opponent, 6-2 and 6-1. 

Singles:

1. So (Cypress) def. Strong (SD), 6-3,6-2

2. Canal (Cypress) def. Fitzmaurice (SD), 6-3, 1-6, 6-3

3. Satrya (SD) def. Scott (Cypress), 2-6, 0-6

4. Tomooka (Cypress) def. Adel (SD), 6-2, 6-1

UP NEXT: The Chargers next match will on Friday, February 11, when they host LA Mission. The match will begin at 1pm.
