CYPRESS, CA- Freshman women's soccer player, Brianna Cortez, earned Charger of the Week after last weeks performance, scoring 9 goals in three games, including three hat tricks. Cortez currently leads the state in scoring, with 10 goals and 24 points.

In the first game of the week, Cypress hit the ground running with a 6-2 victory over College of the Desert where Brianna Cortez scored three goals to go along with two assists. The Chargers then dominated Foothill with a 6-0 victory, where Cortez scored 3 of the 6 goals. The third game of the week resulted in a 6-1 win against Evergreen Valley on their home turf. Cortez and the rest of the Chargers will be back in action Sep. 28 to face Irvine Valley College at home for the first conference game of the season.
