Sophomore women's basketball standout, Pressila Blanco, earned her first Charger of the Week award during Monday's Practice. She is the second women's basketball player to earn the award this season.
Blanco's red-hot scoring has been unstoppable for Cypress over the last few games. She has scored in double figures in four of the last five games, and posted a season high 25 points in a back and forth game vs. Irvine Valley. Pressila's incredible quickness has allowed her to blow past defenders and create wide-open shots for herself. Blanco has done it on the defense end as well averaging over 4 steals per game in that span.
Cypress is coming off a nine game win streak that was snapped on Friday (January 24th) in an overtime loss to Irvine Valley. The Chargers currently sit in third place in the OEC standings. They will be back in action Wednesday night at Don Johnson Court. Tip-off is at 5:00PM.
