Cypress College Set for Return of Men's Water Polo

CYPRESS, CA - Charger Athletics has officially announced the return of men's water polo for the 2019-20 season. The men's water polo program at Cypress College has not competed since the 2002 season, but newly hired full-time coach and kinesiology instructor Mark Canner has high hopes for the program moving forward. The College is excited for the prospective students who now have the opportunity to pursue thier love of the sport while achieving their academic goals.

The Chargers' men's water polo program began its first year of competition in 1968 before completing its last season in 2002. During that span, the Chargers were crowned Conference Champions in 1977 while making numerous postseason appearances.

Athletics Director, Bill Pinkham, hopes to recapture some of that championship history as the program begins a new chapter under the leadership of Coach Canner this season.
