Ojai, CA - The Charger made an unexpected showing at the Ojai like they did in the conference tournament. The doubles team of Aehjai Panis and Christian Ramirez fought through the back draw at the conference tournament to get to Ojai. Their momentum continued in this prestigious tourney.
In the 1st round, during the 1st set the Chargers cruised through easily defeating the team from Reedley College, King and Reimer. In the 2nd set team Panis-Ramirez fell behind 2-4. Then, they rallied to even out the score at 4-4. And eventually, closed out the match 7-5.
In the 2nd round, the Charger Duo battled to take 1st game of the set, but proved to be futile since the team of Banks and Sellers from the College of the Desert was too strong playing by not giving up another game, dropping the match 1-6, 0-6.
The late addition of Ramirez to the team had increased the metabolism of the team. Coach Gabriel Jacob expected this rebuilding year of Freshmen to turn into a much stronger team next season.
