Men’s Soccer Falls to Golden West, 2-1

Cypress – The men’s soccer team suffered its first home loss of the season on Friday afternoon, falling to Golden West 2-1.

Cypress – The men's soccer team suffered its first home loss of the season on Friday afternoon, falling to Golden West 2-1. The Chargers are now 6-2-3 on the season and 1-2-1 in OEC games. Golden West improved to 6-2-2 and 3-1 in conference matches.

The Chargers scored first after a great pass by Josh Alcalde was headed in by Aaren Lewis in the 10^th minute, marking his 11^th goal of the season.

Golden West tied the game at 1-1 before halftime and then took a 2-1 lead with about 25 minutes to play in the game.

The Chargers will host Fullerton on Friday, Oct. 17 in a special Breast Cancer Awareness doubleheader. The men's game will start at 1:00 pm, with the women's to follow at 3:00 pm. Cypress will be charging admission to the game with all proceeds from ticket sales going directly to the Orange County chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
