CYPRESS, CA - Cypress men's basketball Peyton Guerrero earns Charger of the Week for his performance against Golden West College & Santa Ana College.
Cypress College men's basketball traveled to Golden West College and brought home a win of 82-58 on Wednesday, January 10th. Guerrero shot 5 for 7 behind the arc to add to his 20-point game. On the defensive end he added 3 blocks and 3 rebounds.
On Friday, January 12th, Cypress men's basketball hosted the Santa Ana Dons for their first matchup in the OEC. The Chargers were off to a slow start until they found their momentum on the offensive end that pushed the team to victory in double overtime. Guerrero carried his team into overtime when he scored the free throw for the tie in the final seconds of the game. Then, opened the first overtime with a fast-break dunk that electrified the crowd at Don Johnson Court. In the second overtime, Guerrero kept the Chargers close in the battle for the 74-71 conference win.
