CYPRESS, CA - Cypress women's soccer Itzel Ramirez earns Charger of the Week for her performances against Saddleback and Orange Coast.
The Chargers began conference play last week when the team hosted the Bobcats on Tuesday, September 26th. At the 60th minute of the match, Cypress found themselves down two goals in the tense face off. However late in the second half, the home team made a comeback at Ray Haas field.
The Chargers cut the deficit to one at the 67th minute and looked to tie the matchup. With 15 minutes of the game left, Ramirez found herself with the ball just outside of the box. The freshman forward struck a beautiful shot past the diving Tigers keeper to tie the game at two a piece.

Along with her efforts in the dramatic Saddleback matchup, Ramirez also contributed in the Chargers big win over Orange Coast. Brianna Cortez managed to net a goal with an assist from Ramirez in the 4-0 shutout conference victory. In their first two Orange Empire Conference appearances, Cypress is 1-0-1 as the squad continues their conference schedule.
UP NEXT: Cypress will host Santiago Canyon Tuesday, October 3rd. Kickoff will be at 3pm.
