CYPRESS, CA - Cypress women's swim and dive Marisol Narvaez earns charger of the week for the week for her record breaking performance at the OEC Championships.
Narvaez earned third place overall in the 400 individual medley prelims to start off the OEC Championships with a time of 5:08.69. She swam the top overall time in her second event of the day, the 100 breaststroke, finishing at 1:10.53. To cap off the meet, Narvaez broke Cypress College's 8-year-old 200 breaststroke record with a time of 2:36.47.
Narvaez will compete in the CCCAA State Championships from Thursday, May 4th to Saturday, May 6th. There she looks to end her sophomore season on an even greater high. Narvaez will represent the Chargers as the sole member of the team swimming for a State Championship. From her season-long performance, she has qualified for state for all three of her events. Narvaez will compete in the 400 individual medley, 200 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke.
UP NEXT: Narvaez will be the only Cypress Charger to compete at the State Championships at East Los Angeles College from May 4th through May 6th.
