CYPRESS, CA - Cypress women's soccer Siriana Gudiño has been awarded Charger of the Week for her postseason goalkeeping performance.
The Chargers women's soccer team won in the second round of the CCCAA SoCal Regional Playoffs on Saturday, November 19th. Hosting the Antelope Valley Marauders, the Chargers shutout the visiting opponent and scored two goals in the process.
Out of Antelope Valley's 16 opportunities, Gudiño saved nine shots on goal. She dominated the top of the box by cutting off cross passes from the Marauders and securing the ball with sliding grabs. Gudiño's aggressive goalkeeping kept the Chargers competitive in the first half as the game was scoreless through 45 minutes. Cypress's offense broke through at the start of the second half and the Chargers did not look back.
Led by their goalkeeper and Charger of the Week, Siriana Gudiño, Cypress will be visiting the Saddleback Bobcats for Round Three of the CCCAA Regional Playoffs.
