Kian Aminloo and Alfonso Montano Sign NLI

CYPRESS, CA- Cypress men's soccer captain, Kian Aminloo, and Chargers leading goal scorer, Alfonso Montano, sign to continue their education and soccer career at the next level. Kian will be attending Cal State San Marcos while Alfonso will play at Concordia University. 

Aminloo was a star on defense the past two seasons while leading Cypress to back-to-back playoff appearances. Kian was also a two-year captain while playing center back for the Chargers. Cypress had the least goals scored against in the entire Orange Empire Conference this past season.

Q1: What was your most memorable experience from Cypress?

"My most memorable experience was improving under Coach Cristian, I feel like my game has reached another level. One of my favorite memories is making playoffs two years in a row."

Q2: What are you going to miss most about Cypress?

"Something I'm definitely going to miss is the friendship and comradery we had within the team, I feel like it was definitely a family here. We were all very close and that's something I'll definitely miss."

Q3: What are you most excited for in your next chapter at Cal State San Marcos?

"Staying in a new city and experiencing the division II level of play and seeing how far I can go."

 

Alfonso Montano was a two-year starter at the center midfield postion. Montano was the leading goal scorer with 8 goals while 4 goals came in game winning fashion. The second-year star had an immaculate shooting percentage as he scored on 60% of the shots he took in conference play. 

Q1: What was your most memorable experience from Cypress?

"My most memorable experience here was the team and the bond we had. Every day we played it was a battle and we played together as a team and a family.

Q2: What experience are you going to take from Cypress to Concordia University?

"Working hard and preserving to get better and better every day."

Q3: What are you going to miss most about Cypress?

"The enviroment in general. Every day practice was fun, it wasn't something to drag upon, and it was a learnig experience. I will also miss learning from Coach Cristian and my teammates."

Q4: What are you most excited for in your next chapter at Concordia University?

"It's a higher level of play, new teammates, and new competition. I'm ready to start.
