Cypress Chargers Welcome New Head Women's Tennis Coach Ben Cook
CYPRESS, CA - Cypress College Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Ben Cook as the school's new Head Women's Tennis Coach. 
 
"Ben is passionate about building something special with our women's tennis program here at Cypress College. He brings a tremendous amount of experience at multiple levels, which will ultimately benefit our student-athletes and program. We are excited for him to get started," said Cypress Athletic Director, Wes McCurtis.
 
Coach Cook has over 10 years of tennis coaching experience and was most recently the Assistant Women's Tennis Coach at NCAA Division I UC Irvine. At UC Irvine, the team earned their first winning season since 2019 with an 11-9 overall record in 2023. Ben currently holds a 34-23 record and three winning seasons as a coach at the collegiate level. 
 
Prior to working with UC Irvine, Coach Cook was the Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at Caltech University during the 2022 season. At Caltech, he led the women's tennis team to the program's best No. 19 ranking in the nation for NCAA Division III. Cook also spent a season as an Assistant Coach with NCAA Division II Fresno Pacific University, where he helped revive the women's tennis program to a 14-5 record and achieved an ITA Community Service Award. 
 
Alongside having success at the collegiate level, Coach Cook is a Junior Director for the Wilson Collegiate Tennis Camps at the University of Southern California. At the high school level, Cook has seen success with two CIF Girls Tennis titles, five straight CIF Titles for Boys Tennis across three divisions and back-to-back Trinity League Titles for Girls Tennis. Since 2014, Ben has been mentored by tour level and collegiate coaches.
