Scott Tucker Named CCCAA Athletic Trainer of the Year

ONTARIO, CA - Cypress College head athletic trainer Scott Tucker was presented with the 2016 California Community College Athletic Trainer of the Year Award at the CCCCAA "Honoring Our Own" luncheon. 

Scott is in his 31st year as the Head Athletic Trainer for Cypress College. He serves as the health care professional responsible for acute treatment, preventative medicine, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries for the 14 athletic programs at Cypress College. In addition to his commitment to the Cypress student-athletes, Scott also serves as a Preceptor for Chapman University and California State University, Long Beach. During his time as a Charger, he has received repeated nominations for Classified Employee of the Year, which exhibits not only his dedication to the student-athletes and patients, but to the entire Cypress community.  

He consistently works on improving the Athletic Training Department at Cypress College in order to meet the current demands. Presently, he is managing a significant equipment upgrade for the Cypress Athletic Training Facility. Scott also has demonstrated a passion for education. He spent over 25 years as an adjunct instructor – teaching courses in First Aid, CPR, Athletic Training and activity classes. Scott feels that he was born to teach, therefore, student success is very important to him.
