Emily Witz had two huge games against Golden West and Riverside, earning her Charger of the Week (Oct 12-18). With exceptional defense and passing, the freshman was in sync with her teammates, accurately finding the setters to initiate the offense.

The freshman libero was an anchor on the defensive end, making 12 digs against Golden West on October 14 and grinding out 20 digs against Riverside on October 16. Witz played with high energy on the floor and demonstrated composure in her service receives. Over the last two games, Witz compiled 80% of the service receptions, 90% of which led to perfect passes.

The Long Beach Wilson alumna is the third recipient of this award from the women's volleyball team that has gone 14-6 and 5-1 in conference. The Chargers are currently ranked eighth in the state and sixth in SoCal.
