Bio

Brittany Imaku is entering her fourth season as Head Coach of the Cypress College Women’s Basketball program, following six seasons as an assistant coach under the legendary Margaret Mohr. A proud alumna and former standout student-athlete, Imaku was a key member of the 2004-2005 State Championship team, and has since returned to lead the program with the same championship mindset.

In her first season as head coach, Imaku made an immediate impact by guiding the Chargers to their first 3C2A State Tournament appearance since the 2010-11 season. That same year, she successfully helped one of her student-athletes earn a Division I scholarship, exemplifying her commitment to developing talent and advancing student-athletes both on and off the court.

By her third season, Coach Imaku’s leadership earned widespread recognition—she was named Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Coach of the Year and also received the CCCWBCA South Region Coach of the Year honor, affirming her status as one of the top coaches in the state.

Beyond the court, Coach Imaku plays an important role in student-athlete development as the head advisor of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at Cypress College. In this role, she fosters leadership, community service, and academic excellence, serving as a mentor and advocate for the voices of student-athletes across campus.

Before returning to Cypress, Imaku served as the assistant varsity and head junior varsity coach at Calvary Chapel Downey Christian School from 2011 to 2015, and also contributed as an assistant track and field coach during her time there.

Coach Brittany began her collegiate playing career at Cypress College from 2003 to 2005, where she earned All-League honors, was named State MVP, and helped lead the Chargers to a state title. She went on to play at San Jose State University, earning All-Conference recognition, and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Child Development in 2008. She later earned a Master’s degree in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University in 2020.

With a championship pedigree, strong academic foundation, and deep passion for the game, Coach B continues to be a transformative force in the lives of her student-athletes, focusing on their holistic development and long-term success.
