Sophomore baseball standout Aaron Lizarraga was awarded his first career Charger of the Week at Friday's practice.

Lizarraga helped lead the Chargers to a 2-1 series victory in their Orange Empire Conference best-of-three series last week. Cypress won the series opener on the road 3-2, before falling in game two at home 8-4. The Chargers took the rubber match 10-5 on Friday to move up the OEC standings.

The Cypress High School alumnus batted .642 in 14 at-bats with four RBI and his fifth home run of the season during the Chargers' series with IVC. He delivered at least three hits and an RBI in each of the three games, with his best game coming in a series deciding game three, where he went 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBI and a HR.
