A Southern California native, Coach Iordanova Kristen graduated from Gretchen Whitney High School in Cerritos, California. She played softball and volleyball in high school and played club volleyball for Mizuno Long Beach. After high school, Kristen played volleyball at Long Beach City College for one year under Coach Donna Prindle. That year, LBCC was ranked 10th in the nation by the AVCA, was the South Coast Conference Champions, and was the state runner-up. They finished the season with a record of 30-2 with their only two losses coming in the California Community College State tournament from Golden West College, the state champion. After LBCC, Kristen attended Rutgers University where she played volleyball and softball and was the recipient of multiple scholar-athlete awards for both sports.   

Kristen has been in and around the game of volleyball for nearly 20 years. In recent years, the 18's age level for Seal Beach Volleyball Club and now coaches club for Surfside Volleyball. She has assisted countless student-athletes with continuing their academic and athletic endeavors after high school. In the last two years, her club teams have produced several USA High Performance players, numerous watch list athletes & AVCA Phenoms, six AAU Academic All-Americans, and three Prep Volleyball Academic All-Americans. Kristen played for the NCVA NorCal Wildfire, which was a member of the USA Premier Volleyball League in 2015 & 2016. The USA PVL was a USA Volleyball sanctioned professional indoor volleyball league that ran from 2012 to 2016. She also competed in beach volleyball in several AA and Open tournaments.

As a collegiate coach, Kristen was the Head Coach at Napa Valley College for two seasons. In her first season with Napa Valley College, the team finished 2nd in the Bay Valley Conference with 4 All-Conference Selections and 1 CCCAA Scholar-Athlete. Kristen then started the indoor and beach programs at Westcliff University and NAIA institution in Irvine, California. In her first season, the indoor team finished with a record over .500 and had the highest team gpa of all sports. The beach team had pairs defeat NCAA DI CSUN, NCAA DII Cal State LA, and had pairs compete in the USA Volleyball Collegiate Challenge. The past three years, Kristen has served as the assistant for the University of Saint Katherine (NAIA) men’s indoor and beach volleyball teams with her husband, Danko Iordanov, who was the head coach.

Kristen currently works for USA Volleyball as a coordinator for the Men’s and Women’s Indoor National Teams.
