Journie Hayden Earns Charger of the Week
CYPRESS, CA –Journie Hayden has been named this week's Charger of the Week. Hayden delivered back-to-back impressive performances, helping the Chargers secure two critical victories in conference.
In the first game of the week against Irvine Valley College, Hayden put up 19 points in just 22 minutes, shooting 7-of-17 from the field and an impressive 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. She also contributed 9 rebounds (6 offensive, 3 defensive) and added 2 steals to propel the Chargers to a narrow 64-62 victory.
Hayden followed up her stellar performance with another dominant outing against Santa Ana College. In 26 minutes of play, she scored 21 points, shooting 6-of-13 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line, while also grabbing 6 rebounds and dishing out 2 assists. Her efforts helped Cypress cruise to an 83-64 win.
Through both games, Hayden showcased her versatility and leadership, averaging 20 points and contributing on both ends of the court.
UP NEXT: The Chargers will look to continue strong in conference play when they face Riverside on Tuesday, February 11 at 6pm.
