Water Polo rebounds against Cerritos

Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. -- Women's Water Polo traveled to Rancho Cucamonga for the Chaffey Tournament today, Friday Sept. 20, and tomorrow, Sat. Sept. 21. The Chargers (2-4) were looking to rebound from a forgettable loss to Golden West this last Wednesday, 26-2.

The Chargers faced Mesa in the first game of the day where they came close, but ended up losing 5-2. However, in the second game of the day the Chargers put together an offensive display and beat Cerritos College 10-7.

Notable performers in the Chargers win against Cerritos were freshman Taylor Leach and sophomore Jennifer Preciado, who each came away with three goals. Freshman Kiley Kendall scored two goals and freshman Khasnaa Juma and sophomore Markee Budd each scored one goal for Cypress. Freshman goalkeeper Hailey Church totaled 15 saves in the win.

Tommorrow, the Chargers will be back in the pool to face the host school, the Chaffey Panthers, in the final day of the tournament.
