Sophomore Madison May has earned her third Charger of the Week this season (Nov. 23-29), making her the second athlete in Cypress College history to reach this distinction. The first athlete to win three Charger of the Week Award's in a single season was Taylor Pierce during the 2015 softball season.

May was awarded for her outstanding SoCaol Regional performance at MiraCosta, landing 26 kills and three total blocks in a tough 3-1 loss to the hosts.

The outside hitter concludes her career at Cypress College ranked third all-time in total kills in a single season with 442, standing behind Marina Samoa who collected 479 in 2008 and 450 in 2009. She also finished third on the team in digs this season with 126 and fourth in total blocks with 49.

May was recently named the Co-MVP of the Orange Empire Conference and recognized on the All-SoCal Region team.

Madison May will join the Niagara University Purple Eagles next season, an NCAA Division 1 program and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
