Freshman Kayleen Bretz has earned Charger of the Week (Feb. 27-Mar. 3) after leading the women's swimming and dive team with 44 points at the 1st Orange Empire Conference Invitational at Riverside City College.

Bretz destroyed the 10 year old 1650 free record of 19:04.51 as she set a new record time of 18:50.67. Bretz finished 3rd in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:31.26, which was only seven seconds behind the record time of 5:24.30 set in 1991. She also achieved an eight place finish in the 200-yard butterfly as she finished with a time of 2:49.94.

The El Dorado High School alumna is the first member of the swim and dive team to receive Charger of the Week this season.
