Freshman women's soccer standout, Morgan Patea, earned her first career Charger of the Week Award during Thursday's practice. Patea is the first women's soccer player this season to receive the award.

Patea found the back of the net three times in the Chargers' two games last week. The Cypress High School alumna led the Chargers with one goal in a 3-0 victory over Norco. She followed up that performance with two goals in a 3-3 tie against Saddleback College on Friday.

The Cypress College women's soccer team is currently 3-3-2 overall and 1-0-1 in Orange Empire Conference play. Patea ranks first in the Orange Empire Conference in goals scored (5), assists (6), shots (16), and points (16) so far this season.

The Lady Chargers return to OEC action at home on Friday, September 21 against district rival Fullerton College at 3:00 pm.
