Cypress College softball standout, Eliza Sandoval, earned her first career Charger of the Week award following Tuesday's practice. She is the third softball player to receive the award this season.

Sandoval went 3-for-3 at the plate with 2 RBI in the Chargers win over Golden West College, followed by a 2-for-3 performance with an RBI in the victory over Santiago Canyon. The Pacifica High School alumna also pitched in both games; she notched 4 strikeouts in 2 innings of work as a reliever against the Rustlers and gave up just 1 run with 7 strikeouts in her seventh complete game of the season against the Hawks.

Sandoval was also recognized with honors late last week, being selected to the All-OEC first team.
