CYPRESS, Calif.  --- Desiree Lopez won her 11th game of the season as she pitched a one hit shutout for the Chargers in their 8-0 five inning victory on Saturday afternoon over San Diego Mesa.

Mylee Macahilig drove in Alendrina Pichardo for the first run of the game and the Chargers scored four more runs in the bottom of the first to open the game up with a 5-0 lead.

Alejandra Guillen and Jessica Gutierrez each scored a run for Cypress in the bottom of the second while Kelsey Choate scored the final run of the game due to a Christiana Viayra walk with the bases loaded.

The 8-0 victory was the Chargers fifth shutout victory of the year and their fourth five-inning victory of the 2014 season.

Cypress is now 16-5 overall on the season and has improved their conference record to (6-3).  The Chargers will also have an opportunity to move into second place in the OEC if they're able to defeat Orange Coast on Wednesday, March 19.

The Lady Chargers defeated Orange Coast at home earlier this season on February 21st by a score of 6-2.
