CYPRESS, Calif. ---  Mylee Macahilig drove in Khailey Campos in the bottom of the third inning for the first run of the game for the Cypress Chargers.

The Lady Chargers were able to put two more up on the board to close out the inning on Wednesday afternoon, giving them the quick 3-0 lead over the visiting Fullerton Hornets.

Mercedes Dozal singled in the top of the fourth, bringing in Kaylenne McClure for the Hornets first run while Breana Pineda and Nicole Pratt both scored off of Alyssa Nava's double shortly after.

With the game locked up at 3-3, Campos stepped up once again for the Chargers when she drove in Monique Martinez for the 4-3 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Desiree Lopez pitched a shutout through the next three innings and earned her eighth win of the year for the Lady Chargers as they ended up hanging on to defeat the Hornets by one run, 4-3.

Cypress moves to 12-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play after the win today.  The victory today also pushes the highly impressive home winning streak to eight straight games.

The Chargers have an opportunity to move up a spot in the OEC if they can snag a victory against Golden West College tomorrow.

First pitch is set for 3:00 PM at Cypress College.
