CYPRESS, Calif. --- After taking down College of the Desert in game one, the Chargers finished off the day with a 1-0 victory over the Roadrunners in game two of the Saturday doubleheader.
In a game similar to the first one, pitching was the main story on both sides. Desiree Lopez got the win and pitched one of her best games of the season, throwing a three hit shutout for the Lady Chargers in their 1-0 victory.
Khailey Campos stepped up for Cypress when she doubled in the bottom of the third inning, bringing in Christiana Viayra for the only run of the game for the eventual 1-0 victory.
After hitting the game winning home run in the first game of the doubleheader, Alendrina Pichardo went 1 for 3 in game two and continues to play at a high level in the 2014 season. Pichardo is currently averaging .444 on the year and leads the team in SLG % (822).
Cypress is now 11-5 on the season with a current two game winning streak heading into their home game vs. Fullerton on Wednesday, March 12.
First pitch is set for 3:00 PM Wednesday at Cypress College.
