Chargers Snap Losing Streak

CYPRESS, Calif. ---  Makia Hastings drove in Mylee Macahilig in the bottom of the fifth inning to put Cypress on the board against the visiting Roadrunners from College of the Desert.

With the game tied at one run a piece, Alendrina Pichardo cracked a deep home run over the center field wall in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Cypress the eventual 2-1 victory over Desert.

Alejandra Guillen gave up only one run in her five innings pitched while Desiree Lopez came in for the Chargers to seal the deal with three strikeouts in 1.2 innings pitched.

The Chargers snapped their four game losing streak and made it six wins in a row on their home field so far in the 2014 season.

Cypress now has a 10-5 overall record with the second part of the double header coming up later today vs. College of the Desert.
