Close Game at Citrus

GLENDORA, Calif. ---  Freshman Raven Preseau hit a one out triple in the bottom of the seventh inning for Citrus College and eventually scored the winning run for the Owls on Thursday afternoon.

Cypress dominated the first four innings of the game and scored two runs right off the bat in the first inning when Kathy Villa doubled down the left field line, bringing in Mylee Macahilig and Khailey Campos for the early 2-0 lead.

The Chargers managed to score one more run in the second while Alendrina Pichardo followed up with a home run in the top of the third inning to give Cypress the quick 4-0 lead over the Citrus Owls.

Citrus started their comeback when Raven Preseau flied out to center field, bringing in Victoria Baltazar for their second run of the game in the fifth inning.

The Owls eventually upset the Chargers and handed Cypress their third loss of the season.

Despite the loss, Cypress still holds an impressive 9-3 record thus far on the season with a 3-1 conference start in 2014.

The Chargers will look to continue their success in conference play when they take on Golden West, March 4, with first pitch set for 3:00 PM at Cypress College.
