CYPRESS, Calif. ---  Monique Martinez drove in two runs and scored a run of her own for the Lady Chargers in the 6-2 victory over Orange Coast College on Friday evening.

Cypress jumped out to a quick lead when Mylee Macahilig and Khailey Campos both scored in the bottom of the first inning, starting off the Chargers with a quick 2-0 lead.

The Chargers managed to score a couple more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning when Monique Martinez drove in Kathy Villa off a double for the fourth run of the game for Cypress.  Martinez eventually scored before the end of the inning and Cypress moved forward with a 5-2 lead heading into the 5th.

Alejandra Guillen recorded the win for the Chargers and Cypress managed to hang on to defeat OCC by a score of 6-2.  

Another notable statistic in the game was Kathy Villa's two stolen bases for the Lady Chargers.

Cypress will face Mt. Sac today in their first game of the Bakersfield Tournament.

First pitch is set for 11:15 AM with a double header following at 1:30 vs. Southwestern.
