Chargers Stay Undefeated

CYPRESS, Calif. ---  It took eight innings to decide a winner between the undefeated Chargers (4-0) and the undefeated Dons (10-0) from Santa Ana.

The game was tied 1-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth when Khailey Campos singled to left field driving in Monique Martinez for the Cypress run.

After the 2-1 Cypress lead, Emily Whitecavage was able to score a run in the sixth inning for the Dons, tying up the score at two a piece.

Mylee Macahilig and Alendrina Pichardo were both walked in the bottom of the eighth with Alejandra Guillen moving them forward on a sacrfice bunt.  Kathy Villa stepped up to the plate and drove a ball through center field which eventually brought in Macahilig for the game winning run and the 3-2 victory.

With Villa's hit, she finished off the day going 2 for 4 with a game winning RBI.

Desiree Lopez also picked up her fourth win of the season for Cypress with the victory over Santa Ana today.

The Chargers will now look towards Friday when they host Orange Coast College.  First pitch is set for 2:00 PM.

Cypress is now 5-0 on the season thus far with a 2-0 conference start.
