CYPRESS, Calif. --- After defeating Rio Hondo Saturday morning, the Lady Chargers found themselves down 3-5 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning vs. Canyons on Saturday evening.

After starting the season with a (2-0) record, the Chargers weren't going to go down without a fight.

Khailey Campos was able to double to left field in the bottom of the seventh inning with one out, bringing in Kathy Villa for the game winning Cypress run.

The 6-5 victory over Canyons gives the Chargers a (3-0) start on the season and will give them a lot of momentum heading into their first conference game on February 12th, at Fullerton College.

Khailey Campos ended up going 3 for 5 in the game with a game winning RBI for the Chargers while Alendrina Pichardo, Alejandra Guillen and Kathy Villa all had two hits a piece in the big victory.

Guillen won her first game of the year at the mound for Cypress College while Desiree Lopez won the previous two games for the Chargers.

First pitch is set for 3:00 PM on Wednesday when the Chargers travel to face Fullerton in game one of OEC play.
