Coach Gladys is currently in his 6th year with the Chargers, Gladys has nearly 20 years of playing and coaching experience at various levels of the sport.

Not only was Coach Gladys a decorated high school and club swimmer he achieved many accolades as a collegiate swimmer as well. Gladys began his collegiate career at Arizona State University, where as a Freshman he finished 6th in the 200 IM at the Pac 10 Championships. He transferred to the University of Redlands where he achieved NCAA Division 3 All-America honors 7 times. He was the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Champion in the 200 IM three years in a row, 100 Breast two years and 100 Fly two years. In addition, he was the NCAA Division 3 National Champion in the 200 IM.

Collin graduated from the University of Redlands in 2012 with a degree in Sociology and Anthropology. He has also completed his master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine in 2015.

In 2012 Coach Gladys became the Head Coach for Yorba Linda High School. During his first year as Head Coach for Yorba Linda High School, the Mustangs went undefeated in league conference meets and finished as Co-League Champions.

In 2013 he established Elite Aquatics Sports Team (EAST). Coach Gladys left his club team to join the Cypress College swim program in 2015.

His training philosophy is to focus on technique in order to make the athletes faster and prevent injuries. His belief is that quality supersedes quantity and the combination of various activities and a concentration of high-intensity sets offer a competitive experience throughout the workouts.
