SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. --- The Lady Chargers placed 7th overall this past weekend and scored 164 points in their well improved outing at Cuesta College while the men placed 13th overall out of the 16 competing colleges.

Esther Kim stood out for the Chargers and led Cypress with a team high 33 points.  Kim finished 4th out of 34 swimmers in the 100 Yard Breastroke and dominated the majority of the field with her impressive time of 1:12.22.

 Kim also placed 8th out of 23 competitors in the 100 Yard Butterfly (1:08.64).

Aimee Espey continued her strong season and placed 4th out of 51 swimmers in the 50 Yard Freestyle.  Her highly respecatble time of 25.87 was .3 seconds short from a top three finish in the event.

Espey also finished the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of (56.68).  Her time was solid enough for a 9th place finish as she defeated 62 other swimmers in that event.

 

The Cypress men scored 204 total points and finished 13th in the competition out of the 16 team field.

Jack Corrigan had the best performance for the Charger men, finishing in 17th place out of 43 competitors in the 100 Yard Backstroke.

Other notable performances for the Chargers was Daniel Cavender's 19th place finish in the 200 breast (2:36.04) and Garret Spoon's 38th place finish out of 82 competitors in the 100 Yard Free (54.54).

The Chargers hit the water once again against Saddleback and Fullerton on Friday, March 14, at the Golden West College pool.
