Wilde and Saunders Lead Chargers

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. ---  Spencer Wilde (75) and Spencer Saunders (76) carried the Chargers to a fifth place OEC finish at Tijeras Creek on Monday.

The challenging regulation par 72 course forced a lot of issues for many OEC players on Monday.  OCC's Marc Reyes (68), and Santiago Canyon's Nico Mendoza (68) and Byron Busse (70) were the only three golfers to shoot under par.

James Kim finished in third for the Chargers and shot an 81 on the day for Cypress while Shane Morrison followed closely behind with an 82.

Despite finishing fifth, Cypress (398) did manage to defeat Irvine Valley once again by nine total strokes.

Orange Coast College continues to sit in first place while Cypress is currently ranked fourth in the most recent OEC standings in front of Saddleback and Irvine Valley.

The Chargers will continue to practice for three more weeks until their next conference match.  Orange Coast will host the next OEC match on Wednesday, April 2, at the Santa Ana GC.

Cypress is set to tee-off at 9:00 AM.
